Our Story — Desi Drama Queen
Let’s be honest — every brand says they “started with a dream.” But Desi Drama Queen didn’t start with a dream. It started with experience, frustration, and a craving for creative freedom. I’m Krishma Bhagat, a NIFT Chennai graduate, specialising in fashion and lifestyle accessories. Before Desi Drama Queen, I spent years working in the export industry, where quality standards are non-negotiable and precision is everything. In exports, creativity follows a rulebook. You receive tech packs, design exactly what is asked, and move on to the next order. You learn discipline, quality control, durability, and finishing at a global level — but somewhere along the way, the joy of designing starts to feel… restricted. I knew the quality. I understood the process. But what I truly wanted was freedom — the freedom to design what I felt, what I believed women would love, and what I personally wanted to use every day. So in 2013, I decided to create my own space. That’s how Desi Drama Queen was born.
Designing Without Permission
Desi Drama Queen started as my answer to one simple question: “What would accessories look like if I didn’t have to follow anyone’s tech pack?” The answer was clear — handcrafted, expressive, Indian-inspired accessories with personality. I wanted to create pieces that weren’t just functional, but felt alive. Accessories that brought joy the moment you picked them up. Accessories that reflected moods, moments, and individuality. Today, Desi Drama Queen is home to embroidered sling bags, tote bags, quirky backpacks, handmade wallets, sunglasses covers, makeup pouches, and customised pouches — all designed with complete creative freedom, but built with export-level quality standards.

Every DDQ piece is handcrafted by skilled artisans in Noida, whose craftsmanship brings my ideas to life. Coming from an export background, I pay obsessive attention to stitching, finishing, durability, and usability — because for me, quality is not a trend. It’s a habit.
